Fox Bet interim CEO Kip Levin told Fox News last month that the Super 6 game is a 'fun, lighthearted way for you to engage.'

'It’s not gambling because of the free-to-play model,' he explained. 'Super 6 is risk-free. Customers are not wagering anything -- it’s a free entry to answer some questions, engage in the debate in a new way, and potentially win some money if your predictions were correct.'

Fox Bet Super 6 has given away more than $1.4 million since it launched in September 2019, primarily to winners of its weekly NFL contest.

Betting Contest

Fox News' Joseph Wulfsohn contributed to this report.

FOX Bet Super 6 is available nationwide with the exception of Washington state.

FOX Bet is an online and mobile sportsbook originally developed through a first-of-its-kind national media and sports wagering partnership in the United States between The Stars Group Inc. and FOX Sports, a unit of Fox Corporation. On May 5, 2020, Flutter Entertainment Plc announced its acquisition of and subsequent merger with The Stars Group.

As if wagering on sports wasn’t already exciting enough, sports betting contests add a whole new level of intrigue to each week’s matchups. Sports betting contests in 2021 will again be extremely popular across the online sportsbooks. These contests were made famous by casino sportsbooks in Las Vegas, but they are now available through sports betting apps across the country. The highest paying and most frequent sports betting contests around all involve NFL football so if you’re a fan of the league you’ll definitely want to join in, however, there are many contests across all different leagues and sports.

If you are a high roller, there are tons of huge money contests that the big players can compete and win in. If you work with a little smaller of a bankroll, have no fear, as there are hundreds of contests available for you as well. Grand prizes can range into the hundreds of thousands of dollars and buy-ins can vary as well so you can pick the contest that works for you.

2019 Ultimate Football Challenge

Entry Fee:

$1,000

Top Prize:

40% of the prize pool

In this Golden Nugget contest, contestants must make seven (7) picks per week involving both professional and college football. There can be no total points selections, as the challenge only reflects betting on teams against the spread. Each correct selection gives you a point while ties result in a half-point.

The top 20 finishers get paid – 100% of the prize pool – as those who finish 11-20 receive $1,000 each. The top prize takes home 40% of the entire pool, followed by 20% and 10% for 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Contestants must sign up in person and fund their entry by cash or Golden Nugget casino chips only.

For possibly the most popular football contest, contestants are to select five teams from the NFL each week who they believe will beat the spread. Scoring works in the same fashion, as correct selections are worth 1 point while ties are worth half of that. Contestants are unable to select both sides of the game in attempts to ensure points. With 32% of the top prize, this contest also offers bonuses along the way. New this year are four quarter bonuses with a $135,000 prize pool that gives 1st place $100,000.

Because it is based around college, the contest only lasts for 10 weeks and offers a top prize of 50% of the entry fees collected.

If you select 49 winners or more, you will also receive a $25,000 bonus prize, which makes this one of the most profitable contests for the fee. The top ten finishers will be paid out in percentage increments from 15% (2nd) to 2.5% (7th – 10th). Selections must be made at one of their full-service sportsbooks or through a William Hill Sportsbook kiosk.

The champion takes home $1 million and the prizes fall quickly afterward: $100,000 (2nd), $60,000 (3rd), all the way to $5,000 (10th). The contest also calls for quarterly prizes which will break the NFL season down into three four-week contests and the final 5 weeks of the NFL season. Each of these quarters will see the leader(s) take home (a share of) $50,000 or more each time.
